Sustainability

Nana-J’s vision for the textile realm is a world driven by integrity: honesty and transparency are paramount.

As a brand in an inherently unsustainable industry, we do our part by encouraging the appreciation for enduring garments that withstand trends and the robust demands of daily life. Our apparel is not designed for the season—textiles have a lasting impact on our environment and should be treated as such.

Current initiatives include:

  • We allow our customers to donate to a project upon every purchase.
  • We knit to consumption: meeting demand and nothing more.
  • Our product packaging is entirely reusable and biodegradable. Our kraft mailers are entirely recyclable, and our Do Not Disturb thank you cards are printed on recycled stock.
  • We work with small, ethical factories in Bali, allowing us to keep our prices accessible while remaining immersed in the production cycle.
  • Our hybrid garments are designed with multiple intentions, with textiles fabricated for durability—designed to last the test of time.

Using seamless design and knit patterns reduces our contribution to harmful textile waste. Offering limited styles and colours reduces unnecessary textile demand and ensures our pieces remain enduring.

Our future goals will include an even greater embrace of recycled and regenerative materials.
